Meet the team
Hi there, I'm Marc and I can't imagine a line of work that I'm better suited to and would enjoy more than working as a tour guide.
I grew up in San Francisco's Inner Sunset, on the edge of Haight Ashbury, and am a second generation native San Franciscan. I'm first and foremost a family man - my children are the third generation of San Franciscans in my family.
As someone who's traveled extensively I've had the pleasure of experiencing the hospitality and kindness of countless fantastic tour guides, so I appreciate how a professional, quality guide can make a traveler's experience unforgettable.
I've worked as a driver/guide in San Francisco, and as the operations manager and tour-guide training manager for one of the largest local sightseeing companies since 2005. Before this, I spent 16-years in luxury hotels, and the passion for delivering exceptional customer service that I cultivated in the hospitality industry is still with me.
While I don't take myself too seriously, I do take providing you with an unforgettable experience very seriously. . .
My name is Anthony, pronounced the British way 'Antony'. California has been my home, on and off, for over 17 years.
That is to say that I do go back to England to top up my accent and see my family every few years. I have worked as a ship's Cruise Director, DJ, Actor, TV Presenter, Radio Host, News Anchor, Columnist, VJ and I have even trodden the boards on London's West End. I first came here in the 1970's and I was blown away by its beauty.
I have now discovered my vocation in life, the best gig ever, a Tour Guide in San Francisco. For the past few years I have taken hundreds of people on these tours. I enjoy giving them and every one of them excites me still as though it were my first time discovering them. My day's are always full, fun and rich, especially when I am sharing it with new friends. Sharing the colorful history, stories and beauty. It doesn't get better than here.
I've been lucky to be a working musician with Princess Cruises for most of the last 25 years. Of course, travel and meeting interesting people are a big part of that job and one of the things I love about it. When I’m not playing music on cruise ships, I live in San Francisco with my beautiful wife and our two cats. I am of course a Giants fan, and I must admit, a Raiders fan!
People often ask "where's the best place you've been?” and my answer... California. And, Edge Of The World tours is a great way to meet and talk to new friends whenever I'm back home.
