10:00 a.m. | Private Pick-up
Your escape to the coast starts with easy pick-up directly from your San Francisco accommodation. Step into our comfortable modern vans and enjoy an unforgettable journey through the city as we head north towards the green hills of Marin County. Along the way, your expert guide will share stories about the area’s history and culture.
Late Morning | The San Andreas Fault & Coast Miwok Village
The first stop on our Marin coastal tour is the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore. This stretch of protected coastline is famous for its dramatic, untamed beauty and is home to countless wildlife such as elephant seals and tule elk. Here, we’ll walk along the San Andreas Fault and see the mark left by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The seashore is also home to an impressive replica Coast Miwok Village. During your tour, you’ll learn about the Coast Miwok people and their deep connection to the land, long before the area was settled by Spanish missionaries.
Midday | The Point Reyes Lighthouse
After visiting the Coast Miwok Village, we’ll head deeper into the park to visit the iconic Point Reyes Lighthouse. Located on the westernmost tip of the peninsula, this historic landmark helped guide mariners through the foggy and windy Pacific Coast for over 100 years. Weather permitting, your guide will lead you down 313 steps to get a closer look! We’ll also visit nearby North and South Beach, where the waves crash dramatically against the shoreline. Depending on the time of year, Point Reyes is one of the best places in California to watch whales and see California’s gorgeous wildflower blooms.
Afternoon | Lunch & Explore Marin
Next, we’ll visit three of West Marin’s charming oceanside towns: Point Reyes Station, Olema, and Inverness. These small villages offer a wonderful blend of agricultural history, natural beauty, and incredible food, all within easy reach of the coast. Our tours are completely tailored to you! If you’re a fan of seafood, we can make a stop at a nearby farm where you can pick oysters right out of the water. West Marin is also home to some of the best artisan cheese in California, home to producers like Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company and Cowgirl Creamery. Pick up supplies for your own seaside picnic or, if you prefer, pick a delicious local cafe to enjoy lunch at.
6:00 p.m. | Return to San Francisco
As our tour of Marin and Point Reyes comes to a close and the sun begins to set, we’ll start our journey back to San Francisco. We’ll have you back to your hotel or accommodation by 6:00, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy a dinner and drinks out in the city.
